British-Irish bass Seán Purtell is currently based in London and mainland Europe.

Seán enjoys a wide range of repertoire and is at home with well known works and also in premiering the latest pieces of composers, having performed world premieres of song cycles, operas, and oratorios.

Seán has performed internationally as a soloist, and most recently has performed the role of Dottore Grenvil in La Traviata with Den Jyske Opera (Danish National Opera) in Denmark, singing with the country’s leading orchestras in Denmark’s biggest cities. His other performances have included the role of Il Commendatore (Don Giovanni), in Trieste, Italy with OperUS, as well as performing for the Den Jyske Opera’s production of Tosca, and The Greek Passion in Aarhus, Denmark. Seán’s other roles include Claggart (Billy Budd), Don Alfonso (Cosi Fan Tutte), Sulpice (La Fille Du Régiment) Royal Academy of Music Opera Scenes, Private Willis (Iolanthe) Green Opera. He has also performed in masterclasses with Barbara Frittoli, Luca Pisaroni, Lucy Crowe and Will Liverman.
